We seem to have become classic Fiat Tipo specialists here at italicar over the past couple of years. Just off the top of my head, we've sold a 2.0 Sedicivalvole, a special edition 1.6 Liberty, we’re currently restoring the UK's last remaining 2.0 8v GT, a customer’s Sedicivalvole is undergoing a rebuild in the workshop right now and last year we worked extensively on a very well known 3-door Sedici’ too . So, it’s safe to say that we have a fairly decent working knowledge of these cars! And, honestly, without any doubt, this is one of the best we've seen in a very long time.

A 1.6 litre ‘S’ model with carburettor, no catalytic convertor, no power steering, no ABS; this may be from the more modest end of the Tipo range, but it is in absolutely incredible condition. Totally original throughout, down to the Grundig stereo and in remarkably clean, unrestored order inside and out. The brake pipes on this car alone are cleaner than the paintwork on most other 26-year-old classics! It does have a few ding dents, and some minor grazes to the black plastic sections of the front bumper but that’s being extra fussy and the interior and engine bay are both absolutely spotless. Just 51k miles from new, two former keepers and one of only four such models left in the UK (two on the road, two SORN), we’re confident that you'll find it almost impossible to source another example quite like this.

We have just renewed the MoT (which now runs through to September 2019) and checked everything over thoroughly. It all works just as it should, and the no-frills driving experience is a refreshing change from more complicated modern cars. It is completely solid underneath, to the extent that it has never had so much as an advisory for corrosion on any MoT and there are no signs of it being an issue in the future. But that’s not surprising given where we collected this pampered little Tipo from; a carpeted, heated garage alongside the sort of collection of Fiats and Alfas to make any Italophile green with envy.

Really, as good as this Tipo might look in the pictures below or the video above, it needs to be seen in the metal and, better yet, driven to be fully appreciated.
