Lancia Thema

The Thema was Lancia’s entry into the Type Four party, sharing its underpinnings with the Fiat Croma, Alfa Romeo 164 and, ahem, Saab 9000. Bejewelled with plenty of bling and designed to deliver a smoother, more luxurious ride than its cousins, the Thema

1993 Lancia Thema 2.0 16v VIS

An incredibly rare find (there were less than 50 Themas left on UK roads and just 4 in this exact specification when we sold it way back in 2016); a late Series 3 example with the NA 2.0 16v VIS Lampredi twin-cam engine. This trick Variable Intake System essentially adjusted the length of the inlet manifold with valves as per the later “swirl-flap” development on diesel engines. We absolutely loved this car; its operatic Mafioso overtones exaggerated by the gleaming Coventry Red paintwork, diamond-cut alloys and obligatory Alcantara interior. This car will always be remembered fondly by us, one of our definite favourites of all time.
