Alfa Romeo MiTo 1.3 JTDm

I know it’s meant to be that anyone driving an Alfa Romeo should automatically look upon a diesel engine with nothing short of vitriol, but here at italicar we rate the JTD units just as highly as the Twin Spark or…..no, we’ll stop there. Nothing is as saintly as the almighty Busso V6.

However, we do think that the JTD and its later JTDm iteration are undoubtedly one of FCA’s greatest success stories and we’re always happy to work on them. The owner of this MiTo has been using us for a while now and, in fact, we fitted a new clutch to this car a while back. So, when it was time for the timing belt to be replaced we were only too happy to help.

As always, we used only high quality OE standard components and ensured that everything was just-so in every respect. While the intervals on a diesel engine might not be as urgent as those on a V6 or Twin Spark, the timing belt is still the metronome keeping your engine ticking on the beat. We speak from experience when we say it’s not worth the risk and trying to go over the suggested time frames for replacement.

If your own Italian car is due a new timing belt, or there’s any other job on it you’d like to receive the italicar treatment, please don’t hesitate to Contact Us.
